I have been waiting for the weather to warm up a little so I can start wearing dresses again. I found the cutest sleeveless tangerine eyelet dress at Marshalls that I’ve been dying to wear. It has just the right amount of pop – and it’s lined. Everything about it screams SPRING! (I’m all about the girly dresses and Audrey Hepburn/Jackie O’ look – bun included).
I began picturing all the different ways I could wear it. One of which included an ankle-length caramel sweater. The problem was, I couldn’t find it anywhere. And then, lo and behold, there it was! Hanging in a quaint little boutique called Ivy. My search was over and my look complete.
A little tidbit about me: I shop with intention. I never buy just to buy. Every item has a purpose. So it makes me crazy when I can’t find what I need.
My next challenge was figuring out where to shoot. I’m new to the OC, so I’m not yet familiar with all the cool spots for a photo shoot.
It was right about lunch time and chilaquiles were calling my name. So I stopped at Rock & Brew and decided to use their interior as a backdrop. How cool is this Tom Petty and the Hearbreakers wall? (And I’m free, free fallin’).
I kept going back and forth on the shoes. Heels or booties? In the end, my favorite pair of ankle booties won out. I’m almost sorry I didn’t snap a pic with the heels. Grrr! But they are way too high and I wasn’t in the mood for teetering in the rain. Yes. It poured on me, yet again.
